With this assignment, you will…
Reflect on your past work and apply what you’ve learned from previous lessons.
Create a new photo inspired by an earlier image made during the lighting, composition, or color lessons.
Build on one key takeaway from this unit and, if possible, connect it to your long-term project.
Past Work, New Approach
Use what you’ve already created to spark new ideas for this assignment.
Instructions
Step One: Revisit a past image
Choose a photo you made during the lighting, composition, or color lessons. Look at any feedback you received on it—or give it your own critique. Identify one key learning or improvement area you want to carry into your next image.
Step Two: Create a new image with intention
Make a new photo that builds on your earlier image. It should incorporate something you learned in this unit—whether it’s about using natural light more effectively, simplifying composition, or working with a specific color palette. If it fits, try to connect this new image to your long-term project.
Step Three: Share and reflect
Post your final image in the #photoclass-submission channel. In your write-up, include a short reflection on what you carried forward from your previous image and why. Mention how any feedback (past or present) helped shape your new work.
